"To everything, there is a season and a time in every purpose under the Heaven;
Mr. Willie Sims Jr. was born December 2, 1959 in Newberry, SC to the late Mrs. Marjorie Mathis Sims and the late Mr. Willie Sims Sr. He entered into Eternal Rest on September 6, 2016.

He was a member of Fairview Baptist Church.  A graduate of Newberry High School, Class of 1979. Willie was employed by The Newberry Housing Authority, where he started out through the JTPA Work Program. After working with The Housing Authority, he decided to join The United States Army, where he was stationed in Killeen, TX. After serving four years in the Army, he returned to The Newberry Housing Authority as Supervisor over the Maintenance Department for 33 years.

Willie's valuable contribution and support to help others was very instrumental to The Newberry Housing and to The Community. He shared a Special Bond and Admiration from the Residents at Grant Homes.

Willie worked closely with The Newberry County Department of Probation, Parole, and Pardon Services to help give individuals placed on probation a chance to complete their public service hours in hopes for their success to move forward in life and make a difference.

Anyone who knew Willie knew that he was a "HUGE" CLEMSON & PITTSBURGH STEELERS FAN and lived for those days of football season. Willie loved to Fish and Enjoyed Grilling out with Family and Friends. He had a passion for Woodwork ~ Where He has Made and Created Some Beautiful Masterpieces left to Cherish.

Willie was Very Devoted to spending time with his Wife Doris of 25 years; they enjoyed Saturday Morning Outings, Family Vacations, and Dining. He and his wife Doris committed yearly To having An Easter Egg Hunt/Cookout, where they distributed Baskets and Candy for their Children, Grandchildren, Nieces and Nephews, Family, and close Friends.  Willie was Truly A Family Man; he put them first in his life and Loved them Unconditionally. Their Happiness Meant the World to him.

Cherishing his memories are his Loving and Devoted Wife-Doris Johnson Sims, Daughter-Latoria Johnson, Son's- Mashad Perry, Willie Sims lll, Arsenio T. Sims, Shykeim Johnson, Grandchildren - Zaivean Sims, Kingston Ruff, Sister's - Adrian M. Sims, Margie Suber, Mother in Law - Mrs. Shirley Ann Johnson, Aunts, Uncles, Sisters/Brothers/Son - In Law.  A Host of Devoted Nieces, Nephews, Cousins, and Special Friends.

A  MAN OF FAITH & GRACE, LOVE, DIGNITY, RESPECT, AND CHARM ~ WHO LOVED HIS FAMILY AND LOVED HIM TOO!! ALWAYS & FOREVER
