Summary
This position is responsible for maintaining an aesthetically-pleasing and functional outdoor environment at the residential facilities and common areas of Newberry Housing Authority.
All activities must support Newberry Housing Authority mission, strategic goals, and objectives.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

· Performs routine landscaping duties including mowing lawns, trimming trees, shrubbery and hedges, planting and watering flowers and plants, removing weeds, weed eating, spraying sidewalks and fence lines for unwanted grass and weeds at all Newberry Housing properties.
· Cleans parking lots, sidewalks and common areas.
· Removes trash and debris when necessary.
· Assists with routing and preventative maintenance for grounds of assigned properties.
· Oversees and assists with preparing apartment grounds for occupancy after the previous resident has vacated the unit.
· Checks and repairs the exterior lighting.
· Preparing outdoor areas for various weather conditions.
· Operating and maintaining landscaping equipment.
· Keeps all vehicles, tools and equipment in good operating condition.
· Scheduling specialty services.
· Ordering landscaping supplies.
· Performs other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Education and/or Experience
• One (1) year of landscaping experience.
• Must obtain and maintain a valid South Carolina driver's license.
• Must pass a background check.

NHA offers employee FREE Blue Cross Blue Shield Medical Insurance, basic dental and basic life insurance. The costs for all other benefits are shared between NHA and the employee. All full-time employees are required to participate in the South Carolina Retirement System at a contribution rate of 9% of gross earnings.
NHA offers twelve (12) paid holidays per year.
Paid Time Off (PTO) is accrued bi-weekly on hours worked for a total of 20 days the first calendar year.
